When a White Lion or White Tiger is pregnant she is cared for in special birthing facilities and Roy begins meditating with her, creating serenity in the giant cats. Roy is there at the time of birth, comforting the mother and introducing himself to the squalling cubs. "The first voice they hear is mine, the first touch they feel is mine, the fist human face they see is mine," he says.

On many deliveries, the mother has blocked Roy's path as he tried to go for help when the cubs began arriving. The mother would clean the babies as they were born, then drop them in Roy's lap in an amazing show of trust.

"I think this is incredible. When you consider an animal like this can kill their own mate over young ones, the fact that she accepts Roy to be part of the experience is a miracle," says Siegfried.
