Creator and executive producer of NBC's new animated comedy series "Father of the Pride," Jeffrey Katzenberg is a principal partner in DreamWorks SKG, the studio he co-founded with Steven Spielberg and David Geffen in October 1994. Katzenberg also serves as executive producer for NBC's new unscripted drama series "The Contender."

Under Katzenberg's leadership, DreamWorks' animation division has enjoyed several successes, most recently including "Shrek 2," the sequel to the computer-animated blockbuster "Shrek," on which Katzenberg also served as executive producer. Since its May 19 release, "Shrek 2" has shattered several box office records, including those for largest five-day Wednesday opening, largest single-day box office gross, largest Sunday box office gross, and the biggest opening for an animated film ever. On only its 25th day in release, "Shrek 2" became the top-grossing animated film in history.

Katzenberg was previously a producer on "Shrek," which won the first Academy Award ever presented for Best Animated Feature, as well as Best Animated Film Awards from a number of critics organizations, including the Broadcast Film Critics and the Los Angeles Film Critics. The film also earned Golden Globe and Producers Guild Award nominations and is the third-highest-grossing animated feature of all time. Katzenberg more recently produced the traditionally animated "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron," which earned an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature.

Katzenberg had earlier served as an executive producer on DreamWorks' clay-animated hit "Chicken Run," which was named the best-reviewed movie of 2000, in addition to winning awards for Best Animated Feature from several critics groups. He was also an executive producer on the traditionally animated films "The Prince of Egypt" and "The Road to El Dorado," and was a producer on "Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas."

DreamWorks' Animation is presently in production on several film projects, including "Shark Tale," coming in October 2004, as well as "Madagascar" and a feature-length "Wallace & Gromit" movie due out in 2005.
